Noparity BBS Beginner's Info

If you are ever unsure of your options, type ? or HELP for a menu.

     Ctrl-C (Pressing Control key and C) is often used to exit a feature. For
example in SSTAT if you type Ctrl-C in response to the name prompt, you will
return to the main menu.

     Host commands on this BBS can be abbreviated. Instead of typing MAIL
you just type M. Sometimes one command will conflict with another, for example
MAIL & MODIFY. In this case you can type MO for modify. One command that
cannot be abbreviated is BYE!

     NEVER hang up on this board, since sometimes the board will not detect the
hangup and will stay on, restricting other people from using the board. Always
type BYE to leave.

     You may login for a total of 45 minutes every day. That can be spread over
any number of logins. You can find out how much time you have left by typing
TIME.

     Please use the PSTATS and SSTATS commands. These are used to post (PSTATS)
and scan (SSTATS) your personal information file. This includes your name,
telephone number, computer type, and any future plans you wish to make public.

     WHO is a command that lets you look at a list of recent callers.

     VOTE is a command that lets you cast your ballot on topical issues. You
can suggest topics to the sysops. The PODIUM newsgroup often deals with VOTE
subjects.

Payments

Since running the Noparity BBS involves the dedication of a computer system and
a phone line, we must charge a fee for use of the board. The initial sign-up
fee is $5 (including the first month). Every subsequent month costs $3. This
sum is payable at the end of each month. Please be prompt with your payments!
