Toad Hollow Software Co. was a developer of Newton software concentrating on making portable data applications for Newton PDA's to solve real world problems. Unfortunately time moves on and Toad Hollow Software Co. is no longer developing for Newton. Thanks for all your support through the years.
Another Boston-centric Newton application from Toad Hollow Software Co. is the NewtonBook guide to Boston's Freedom Trail. This guidebook contains a ready reference to the 2 1/2-mile long historic walking trail through downtown Boston that is the only National Park on land not owned by the Park Service. The new version 1.3 adds a new map and info on the historic USS Constitution sailing under her own power! Many line drawings and pictures are included as well. The U.S.S. Constitution, the oldest commissioned ship in any navy, is covered in detail. This NewtonBook also contains the full text of Longfellow's poem Paul Revere's Ride that made Revere famous, as well as eyewitness accounts of the Boston Massacre, the event that turned the colonial public against the British and precipitated the revolution.
If you are in the Boston area be sure to check out the Boston PDA Users Group also known as BOSPDAUG. This users group meets on the second Tuesday of every month in room 3-133 at MIT in Cambridge. All PDA users are welcome. There is also a PDA developers group called NPC that meets in the same room at MIT on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Everyone is welcome! Both groups have mailing lists that you can subscribe to by sending mail to a Majordomo courtesy of PrimordialSoft. Details are on the BOSPDAUG web page.
All Newton applications at this site are compressed with StuffIt by Aladdin, the cross-platform file compression utility. Unstuffing tools for Macintosh and Wintel machines can be found at Aladdin's web site.
Please note that if you are using StuffIt Expander for Windows, you must set the two CROSS PLATFORM preferences to NEVER for 'Convert Text files to Windows format' and for 'Save Macintosh files in MacBinary format' so that the package can be unstuffed correctly.
This page was created on a Macintosh using BBEdit.
